Sugaring FAQ's
To extract the hair, the length must be at least 1/8″, which is roughly the length of a grain of rice. Most women reach this length of hair after 2-3 weeks of growth. Extracting the hair at 1/8″ will lead to permanency. Longer hair may need to be trimmed to prevent unnecessary pain while applying sugar. Please allow us to do the trimming for you so we can make sure the length is ideal.
No. Ingrown hairs are often caused by lack of exfoliation, improper skincare, and hair growing over the mouth of the follicle. Sucre Body Sugaring practitioners use the proper pre and post-extraction care to ensure the best results of the treated area. Combined with appropriate knowledge on pre and post-care, Sucre is confident we will help you prevent ingrown hairs from reoccurring.
Pre-care instructions:
a) Please do not suntan for 24 hours before your appointment. If you have a sunburn, we cannot sugar that area of your skin
b) Please be sure your skin is clean and dry, avoiding any lotions, oils, perfumes or powders.
c) Please do not exfoliate the day before or the day after a sugaring treatment. During the sugaring process, the sugar paste itself will exfoliate your skin, which will leave your skin soft and supple.
Post and in-between treatments:
a) Always moisturize your skin every day! Please use a water-based lotion as this will help keep your skin hydrated and prevent ingrown hairs.
b) Talk to your practitioner about our S3: Secret Serum roll on for ingrown relief!
c) Be sure to moisturize with Sucré’s very own water-based moisturizing lotion and our Femme Fresh feminine wipes.
If this is your first time Sugaring and you have been previously using a razor, your first treatment will be the most uncomfortable. This is because the hair shaft’s bulb at the base of the hair is enlarged. The more sugaring treatments you receive from us, the easier it becomes to remove the hair because these roots will become weaker.
After your first treatment, you will notice that the hair that grows back will be softer and more delicate. After a few months of Sugaring, you will see spots where no hair growth is present. It is here that you will witness the beginning stages of permanency through Sugaring.
Your first treatment at Sucré is one we wish to make both comfortable and rewarding. Upon entering our boutique, you will be greeted by one of our lovely staff members. You will be asked to fill out an information form if it is your first visit.
Your Advanced Sugaring Practitioner will promptly greet you at the start of your appointment time and lead you to one of our five lavish treatment rooms. Your practitioner will privately review your information card with you and address any concerns or questions you may have.
She will then give you privacy as you undress from the waist down and cleanse your bikini area with our complimentary I Love My Muff disposable feminine wipe so you can start the treatment feeling fresh and confident. You will be given a towel to cover yourself with while you lay on our treatment table, ready for your treatment to begin.

Tiny red spots may appear on the skin for a few hours. Please do not worry; it is a natural reaction when hair is removed right from the root. These spots will disappear quickly.
You can still be sugared during this time. We ask that you come to your appointment wearing a clean feminine tampon, and we can easily complete your treatment.
Unfortunately, if you are using Retin-A or any other topical cream for acne on your face, we would not be able to sugar your face at all. You can, however, be sugared in other areas of your body. If you are using Accutane or have used Accutane in the past six months, Sucre Body Sugaring Boutique cannot treat any area of your body.
